I make reportage drawings of people engaged in activity, often large-scale (up to 1.5m). The drawings serve to record an event over time - minutes, hours, or sometimes days.

Stoneleigh Country and Livestock Show
As artist-in-residence at the show I had a lovely base in Barn 7 and then went out and about drawing. The showery weather made it impractical to work on a large scale. Instead I chose some handmade Indian paper that has flecks of plant material, including straw and sacking, clearly visible.
I became totally absorbed by the sheep. . . . . and their relationships with each other and their handlers when being shown in the ring.

Larmer Tree Festival
Throughout the five glorious days of the fesival, and during four set-up days leading up to it, I was drawing on site. I made all my drawings on William Morris wallpapers, chosen to reflect the late Victorian heyday of the Larmer Tree pleasure gardens. There are more images on my website.
